I have the Dr. Morbius Edition KMA-100 amps hooked up now and the Diva Ultimate’s are very happy with them. The bottom end that was lacking from the KRS-80 is now full and solid. The soundstage fills the room now that the speakers have the drive they craved. All this with no break-in yet, so it'll only get better. 
Thanks a ton for your excellent work. It was all worth the wait, especially as it gave me some time to get to know you a little better.

I've had them playing since you left. The bottom end depth, control and impact these amps are delivering is quite impressive. I'd say noticeably superior to what they could do before their service and upgrades, and frankly superior to the low end of my Evolution One's in their current state.

... I haven't forgotten your question about how the revived Krells sound! In a word, they sound great. Most obvious to me, to begin with, was how quiet they've become - even though I hadn't realized they'd become noisier as the years passed. Listening to even badly-pressed old LPs, I was surprised just how quiet the surface noise now sounded. And some middling LPs had moments of quietness that rivaled CDs.
The second most obvious improvement in the Krell’s was, as you mentioned, the width of the sound stage. I was particularly aware of this on certain records - in which the extra spaciousness was stunning

“It was with great pleasure that I found that Luxman had finally get a distributor in the New York area deserving the audiophiles like me who had for so long venerate the incomparable quality of Luxman products . After inquiring about an issue with my latest Luxman pick , the M-900 U , you referred me to the authorized Luxman repair facility for a better response to my question.I redirected my phone call to the shop and there I was quickly engaged in a detailed conversation with Steven who use his knowledge and patience to analyse step by step my technical issue and made precise recommendations. Furthermore , he took the time to guide in investigating the problem and told me most likely it will be no need to send the amp for any repair . As stated the issue was resolved by following the diagnostic steps recommended. Steven’s CV can tell anyone familiar to the High end about his competence but competence can be learned and is easier to find than integrity and ethics . He could have tell me to pack the amp and send it for a costly ,out of warranty repair but he did not.Such integrity and professionalism are hard to find these days even in my own profession which supposed to be of an higher calling.I have no doubt that in the days to come Luxman will be proud to count Steven Leckrone as one precious asset in the long line of superbe minds devoted to continue the Luxman tradition .

Thanks for the work. Been listening for last 5 days and I can hear a difference between the 2205 you repaired and the other one I had borrowed. Tighter low end of mid bass (100-500 CPS) I took your advice and installed the other 2205 on the high end (7K CPs) and man what a difference Much more defined and crisp!! Also noticed that if the meters are accurate, the new 5300 integrated on the mids is sometime half the power of the highs!! what a surprise. For example, the mids will be pulling .05 watts while the highs are at .2 watts—again if the meters are accurate.

The Least Expensive Upgrade I've Made in Years!

I had Stephen Leckrone rebuild my Krell KHR-RC (purchased used perhaps a year ago) and my Krell KSB-80B (purchased new in February of 1990) about 6 months ago. Oh my goodness! I had no idea how good and detailed my system could sound! The low level hum and hiss are gone, LPs have a new life, the soundstage is greatly improved, and I keep discovering nuances in familiar music...even digital (loaner Metrum Acoustics Pavane DAC) and FM sound much better...'nuff said?

I just installed the KSA 80 to let it cook for 3 hours. My God! It is the best Krell sound I ever heard. You did a fantastic job to repair and bias it. I just forget about bass mid height ,It just pure music and all the instrument have life in to it,the music so moody now so I think that is a good thing. Thought I’d let you know that I have finally been able to spend some time and with my The-Service-Department-rejuvenated KRC- HR and I must say,  I am thoroughly pleased! As I think I mentioned to you, I have another one of these units and this one sounds noticeably better. I bought that other unit from another guy last year who had it recapped by Krell. I wanted a second unit because I think these preamps are second to none and wanted a spare . The highs are much better defined on this unit now and the soundstage is noticeably wider and OPEN! Thanks again for a job well done.!

Steve at The Service Department has just "rebuilt" my Krell MDA 300s and I could not be more impressed.  When the amps were sent they were running fine but needed to have a much needed overhaul before disaster struck.  Steve was an absolute joy to work with keeping me updated on the work needed and the progress of the work once authorized.  He uses nothing but the best replacement parts, in most cases better than the original to stunning effect.  Believe it or not the amps sound much better than when they were new and are now dead silent where before they always had a slight hum.   I always loved these amps but that has been taken to another level.  The sound is much cleaner, more detail, more musical and lush.  I could not be happier.  To get an idea of how committed he is to doing the job right talk to him personally and you will be sold.  He lives and breaths this stuff.  If you have any high end electronics, either tubed or solid state, I would highly recommend Steve at the Service Department to work on your equipment.  As an added bonus he is authorized to do warranty work on most big name brands.  I will never consider using anyone else for any of my needs, period.
